The Big Daddy is here... Beefeater London Dry Gin was first made in 1820 by James Burroughs and it is still made using the same nine all-natural juniper, Seville orange peel, bitter almonds, orris root, coriander seeds, angelica root, licorice, angelica seed and Sicilian lemon peel botanicals it has always been made with.
This is the 1st Gin I ever tried and I've loved the brand ever since. I will never forget the day, I was at a fancy dress party, dressed as, you guessed it, James Bond, and was given my first ever Martini. It changed my life.
I can't help feel this is a real man's Gin, having tried lots of Gins from flavoured to high strength and fancy new age boutique ones I personally keep coming back to this smooth and well-integrated old favourite, the juniper is there, but it's not overwhelming, it has a slightly fruity, clean feel and is extremely pleasant overall. So if you want an uncomplicated gin that makes a decent Martini and G&T and you prefer it to the premium brands on offer, great news, because you going to save yourself a small fortune.
