I've always wanted to go to Australia, so here was my chance to go there and back with a lunch time tasting tipple. This gin with its typically Australian moniker is made by Old Young's Distillery on the west coast with all manner of marvellous leafy botanicals that call Australia their home such as wattleseed and bush mint.

Well of course no one knows what wattleseed is here in the UK, but that's why I'm the expert, because I can tell you they are the edible seeds produced by Australian Acacia tree and traditionally enjoyed by native Aboriginals.

So with that interesting fact out of the way and another prawn thrown on the barbie I had my first lip smacking sip that produced a steady flow of coriander, angelica, aniseed and juniper with a tart lime undertone and menthol sweetness that gave it a surprising depth. I was particularly delighted with its slight stony minerality and clean crisp finish and distinct herbaceous nose that intertwines itself perfectly with its earthy heritage.
