Before we even talk about this wonderfully named Gin, I need to know where the Isle of Islay is? Well I can now tell you it is the 8th largest Island in the British Isles and is part of the Southern Hebrides with a population of 3200 lucky souls. You got to love a quick geography lesson, hey!

So that sorted, let's get onto the important bit, the Gin, with 22 hand-foraged local botanicals delicately augmented with 9 berries, barks, seeds and peels during an achingly slow distillation you just know you're in for a treat, and so with mouth watering anticipation lets get on with the taste test.

Before I even had my first sip my nose was transported to a summer meadow with sweet delicate apple mint, woodlands, juniper, coriander and aniseed undertones all mixed with orange and lemon peel with thistle and coconut all bouncing out of the glass, it was initially cool on the lips and quickly mellowed out with a bewitching warmth of pure citrus freshness that I adored and to be perfectly honest I couldn't help myself with this Gin, I took the bottle home with me.
