I am delighted to introduce you to The Big 7, a highly commended finalist of the 2021 Gin Guide Awards that was also a part of the (May 2021 Gin Club).

It's a copper column distilled Gin made with 7 botanicals in incredibly small batches in the heart of Essex by two mates, Charles and Mike. Despite having many years in the industry, they only launched this particular Gin at the start of lockdown, but nonetheless it's been an instant hit with true London Dry fans everywhere.

Big 7 is a zesty Gin that punches through tonic beautifully. The juniper, lemongrass and grapefruit peel gives it a light and fruity feel, the bay leaves keep it fresh and chamomile, angelica root and cassia bark give it a long warm finish. In my book it's up there with the best and is as versatile as they come.

So there you have it, a nice and local craft Gin who's versatility will satisfy anyone's palate. With the correct garnish and a little bit of creativity this will work wonderfully as the foundation to your very own Chamomile Gin sour, just make sure to add an egg with a squeeze of lemon juice and you’re away, have fun and do your best not to drink it all at once!
