Righto, let's get straight to it, the 41% Achroous Flagship gin, created by the Edinburgh based James Porteous from the brilliantly named Electric Spirit Company and his shockingly gorgeous bottle from our February 2023 Gin Club.
James started his journey in 2014 using a tiny ten litre glass still and is today a multi award winning gin distiller that was named as one of the top ten gins in the entire world at IWSC in 2019. I can only say the praise is more than well-deserved as the gin is an absolute delight.
It has a herbal and complex nose with a zingy sichuan peppercorn and fruity fennel seed palate that has real staying power and intensity before it finds way back to that oh so familiar juniper taste we all love. We just adore it and gosh, that bottle, what a master class in design and distilling combined, a massive well-done James, and thank you for sharing your gin with us, it's one of the best.

We love gin so much we started our own Gin Club back in 2019 and pride ourselves on running the UK's friendliest dedicated gin club around. However, its very rare, but don't get me wrong, things do go wrong. It drives us insane from misrouted deliveries to smashed bottles, we have seen it all and that is why, whatever happens, we promise to always go the extra mile to make it right with a timely and sympathetic ear that truly does care what you think.
