This month we're settling into the Shropshire countryside with Henstone Oak Aged Rosé Gin, a small-batch creation from Henstone Distillery. Named after the homes of its founders (The Hen and Chickens and Stone House) it's a spirit with proper roots, distilled on a working farm where time, patience, and good ingredients quietly shape the final pour.

On the nose it's bright yet softly rounded, with fresh citrus and delicate botanicals rising first, gently layered over a subtle hint of oak. Juniper holds its place at the centre, while the palate brings something a little different. A smooth, mellow warmth with whispers of vanilla, light spice, and a soft rosé character that lingers elegantly. The finish is refined and balanced, where crisp gin clarity meets the quiet influence of the barrel.

For me, this is one of those gins that sits beautifully between tradition and curiosity. It keeps that classic London Dry backbone but adds a gentle twist from its time in oak, making it wonderfully versatile. Served long with tonic and a slice of dried orange, or softened with something a touch more floral, Henstone Oak Aged Rosé Gin is one you'll find yourself returning to, easy going, well balanced, and just that little bit off the beaten path.
