This month we are making a spirited detour to County Antrim with Paula McIntyre Pot Still Dry Gin, a lovely Irish creation from chef Paula herself in collaboration with Basalt Distillery. It is a tribute to the rich natural larder and culinary heritage of Northern Ireland and immediately feels like a gin with a story.
On the nose it is fresh and inviting, bright citrus dancing with soft florals and herbaceous notes of lemon verbena and meadowsweet, underpinned by that classic juniper presence. On the palate it is clean and balanced with gentle warmth from ginger, subtle nutty depth and lingering citrus zest, finishing smooth and dry but ever so approachable.
For me, this is one of those gins that feels both grounded in tradition and wonderfully drinkable. It honours its native botanicals while staying crisp and elegant, making it gorgeous in a classic G&T with a twist of orange or lemon peel. Paula McIntyre Pot Still Dry Gin is one that will keep you coming back for sip after sip.

We love gin so much we started our own Gin Club back in 2019 and pride ourselves on running the UK's friendliest dedicated gin club around. However, its very rare, but don't get me wrong, things do go wrong.
